SNOW LATEST: Fresh travel issues for train and air passengers as icy blast continues to hit Highlands
Transport services in the Highlands are facing another day of chaos and disruption amid the blast of wintry weather.
Rail passengers hoping to travel on the North Line between Caithness and Inverness face significant issues, with cancelled services also reported between Inverness and Glasgow/Edinburgh.
Early morning services failed to reach Wick and Thurso, with trains starting and terminating at Lairg.
The 10.41 am Inverness to Wick service will also terminate in the Sutherland town, while the 2pm Inverness to Wick and the 4pm Wick to Inverness trains have been cancelled.
Passengers are advised to check all potential journeys with ScotRail for services later services.
The rail operator says that hazardous roads mean it has been unable to source rail replacement buses.
The main Highland line has also been hit, with some earlier morning services between Inverness and Glasgow cancelled.
The 12.07 pm Glasgow to Inverness service will terminate at Perth, as will the 5.30 pm Edinburgh to Inverness train.
Inverness Airport is largely unaffected by snow today but the departure of this morning's 6:35 am EasyJet EZY846 flight to Gatwick was delayed until 8:20 am.
The Loganair LM131 9:30am flight from Inverness to Sumburgh has been cancelled with heavy snow and ice reported in Shetland.
Bus services throughout the Highlands are subject to potential delays and cancellations.
Stagecoach cancelled all early morning school bus runs amid the treacherous conditions but has since reinstated many journeys. Drivers are using main roads only in many areas.
