Sid's Spice in Brora pipped at the post for award

An Indian restaurant in East Sutherland has missed out on an award.

Sid's Spice in Brora was in the running for an accolade in the 2nd Scottish Restaurant Awards 2023.

The popular eatery, situated in Station Square, was a finalists in the Indian Restaurant of the Year category.

However, Sid's Spice faced strong opposition from the eight other establishments which also made it to the final in the class.

And Eastern Touch at Anstruther was named as the winner at an awards ceremony held on Monday at Glasgow Marriott Hotel.

A spokesman for the awards said: "These awards serve as a platform to highlight the outstanding contributions of restaurants and individuals who play a vital role in shaping Scotland's vibrant food scene. The competition was fierce with a large number of nominations."
