Search ongoing for missing diver off Sutherland coast

A major search is under way for a missing diver off the Sutherland coast.

The alarm was raised just before 11am when the diver became overdue off Kinlochbervie.

The coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Stornoway, Lochinver Lifeboat and coastguard teams have been sent.

A spokesperson for the Maritime Coastguard Agency said that nearby vessels in the area have also been contacted by radio.
