A search is on to find a new head teacher for the Achiltibuie and Lochinver Primary school cluster.

The rural Wester Ross and Sutherland teaching job is offering £60,627 a year, for the full-time, 35hrs a week permanent post.

The job advert on myjobscotland particularly encourages applications from Gaelic speakers.

The two west coast schools are looking for a confident and courageous person, who can articulate a vision and give direction for the school, whilst inspiring others.

Some of the essential criteria for the role includes at least three years of successful experience as a teacher in a primary school.

It's also essential that the successful applicant has achieved the Standard for Headship, or someone who has not yet achieved the Standard for Headship may be appointed as a head teacher, provided the appointment does not exceed 30 months.

The applicant would also be required to become a member of Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to confirming their appointment.
