ScotRail passengers in the Highlands hit by disruption because of train crew shortages
Staff shortages are disrupting some trains to and from Inverness this morning.
ScotRail is warning that the 10.07 Glasgow Queen Street to Inverness service that was due to arrive in the city at 13:25 will now terminate in Perth.
It will no longer call at Dunkeld & Birnam, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Aviemore and Inverness.
Earlier this morning, the 04:54 Inverness to Edinburgh train, due into the capital at 09:35, was cancelled because of a shortage of crew.
The 05:36 service to Glasgow Queen Street was also altered and will start from Perth rather than the Highland capital, arriving into Glasgow at 08:56.
It will no longer call at Inverness, Carrbridge, Aviemore, Kingussie, Newtonmore, Dalwhinnie, Blair Atholl, Pitlochry and Dunkeld & Birnam.
Far North Line services between Wick and Inverness have again been hit.
The 08:02 Wick to Inverness service due 12:27 has been cancelled, as has the 14:00 Inverness to Wick train due in at 18:22, again through staff shortages
ScotRail has organised replacement buses for both services and also has a ticket acceptance agreement in place with Stagecoach North buses between Wick and Inverness for those with a valid ticket or smart card
