Golspie Rowing Club is holding its third annual regatta at the village’s Seafront Centre on Saturday, July 1.
Another eight rowing clubs have confirmed they will be competing – Bunillidh, Cromarty, Ullapool, Strathpeffer, Nairn, Avoch, Collieston and Findhorn.
Racing will take place from 9.45am to 3.30pm and there are ten different categories. Prize-giving takes place at 4pm.
The club with the most points overall will take home the coveted Campbell Port Memorial Trophy, created out of a stone from Golspie beach with a base of Ben Bhraggie sandstone.
Golspie are defending champions from 2021 – the regatta was not held last year to allow the club to attend the World Championships in Kortgene, Netherlands.
Regatta organiser William Sutherland said “We are hugely looking forward to welcoming the different clubs and enjoying the friendly competition of the day.”
Local people are encouraged to turn out and cheer the teams on. A barbecue is being organised and refreshments will be available all day.
There will also be market stalls, including the popular Golspie Free Church baking stall. A raffle will run all day. There will be a small beer and cocktail tent in the afternoon.
