The Rotary Club of East Sutherland have expressed their gratitude for the generosity of spectators attending this past weekend's Sutherland Show.

Rotary volunteers enjoyed a fabulous time at the Dornoch show grounds on Saturday, basking in glorious weather as they raffled off a bottle of malt whisky in aid of funds for several Rotary local charities and Scotland's charity air ambulance.

Rotary Club representative Alistair Risk said: "What a fabulous day Rotary had at the Sutherland Agriculture Show in Dornoch. The sun shone and the crowds flocked to the show in their thousands.

"We were there to greet them and sell them a tombola and the opportunity to win a fine bottle of malt whisky, raising almost £650, which will be split between local Rotary charities and Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance. We also took the opportunity to promote the Soldiers', Sailors' & Airmen's Families Association who help retired armed force personnel in need.

"The show was a riot of colour and displays with local beasts and pony displays and the most wonderful Clydesdale Horses pulling carriages while they strutted their stuff. And bang on 2pm the Red Arrows flew over to add to the day.

"We had a great day and thanks to the generosity of the crowd, we can now help others."
