Leading the project is Melrose based teacher Tom Lawson, the founder of Green Tweed Eco which encourages engagement between Scotland's children and the natural world.
Mr Lawson, who makes the sustainable bird boxes, is supported by the Highlands and Islands Environment Foundation.
He also worked with the RSPB and Highland Council to create the teaching resources that come with the bird boxes.
The boxes will be installed in the school surrounds and pupils will be encouraged to watch the activity of parents birds as they raise their families from eggs to fledglings.
Each bird box is mapped and monitored using a GIS data mapping system with pupils and staff able to collate and share their observations.
Tom said: "This has been such a positive and fun project and I am really delighted that it has been so well received in the Highland region."
Lochlan Williamson, a P6 pupil at Rosehall, said: “I think they are really good; the wood is nice and lots of birds will come and visit us.”
