A SMALL Sutherland primary school is seeking help from customers at Tesco's Tain store.

Rosehall Primary School has successfully applied for a Tesco Stronger Start grant, but the amount it receives depends on a customer vote. The school is guaranteed £500 but could be awarded £1000 or £1500.

Customers at the Tesco Tain store can vote for the school during February and March using a blue token issued at the checkout, which can then be popped into the appropriate voting box.

The scheme gives priority to projects that provide food and support to young people.

A spokesperson for the school said: "The funding will enable the school to set up and run a healthy snack shop in break time.

"Pupils will run the enterprise and will be able to buy fruit, snacking vegetables and other healthy bites, using their own currency – the Rosehall pound."
