Rogart Development Trust (RDT) is promoting the recycling of clothing by holding its first-ever clothes swish next month, tying in with Earth Day.

Entry to the event at the village hall on April 23, will be £5 per person, with cake and drinks available on the day for a small donation.

Earth Day falls on Friday, April 22, and is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

The group posted on its Facebook page: "A clothes swish is a swap event. Good quality new and used clothes are donated prior to the event and then organised in size for people to browse.

"You can get some great finds at a swish and can rehome as many clothes as you want for your £5 entry fee.

"This is to help promote the idea of reduce, reuse, recycle and to save clothes from going in to landfill, tying in with Earth Day."

The group advised that it cannot accept underwear or swimwear donations but would welcome shoes, accessories and bags.

Anything left after the event will be donated to a charitable cause.

Good quality items are now being accepted and anyone wishing to contribute is asked to leave donations at the Spar shop or with Kat Lee at Banscol Lodge.

The group said it had already received a substantial amount of clothing and would continue to take donations until April 15.
