Police report on body discovered by Aviemore has gone to Procurator Fiscal
Police Scotland have confirmed that a report has now been sent to the Procurator Fiscal’s office regarding the discovery of a body just outside Aviemore last Friday..
But further details are still awaited beyond the fact that the family of missing Rodrigo Falcon has been informed of the discovery of remains in rough ground just to the west of Kinrara Distillery, some 16 months after Mr Falcon was last spotted, on CCTV, striding out of the village late one night.
With formal identification still awaited, tributes have nevertheless been paid to the popular 33-year-old worker at Glenmore’s Pine Marten Bar & Scran.
Highland MSP Fergus Ewing said: "The profound sorrow echoing throughout the community is a testament to the impact Rodrigo Falcon had on all who knew him.
“He wasn't just a resident; he embodied the spirit of Aviemore.
“My thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone touched by his warmth and kindness.”
Local Highland councillor Bill Lobban shared his own thoughts on this week’s tragic find, with his own tribute to Rod: “"The entire community is devastated by the news that Rod has eventually been found.
“He had become a very well known 'local' and was hugely popular amongst his friends and work colleagues and will be sadly missed.
“Our deepest condolences go to his family and all those he has left behind."
