Result declared in Melvich Community Council election

Highland Council has declared the results of the election for Melvich Community Council.

The election was a postal ballot.

The election was broadcast live from the council's office in Dingwall.

Depute returning officer Cheryl MacIver said there was a 53.4 per cent return with 167 postal votes received from a total electorate of 313 people.

Nine people put their names forward for eight seats on the community council.

The results were as follows:

David Anderson 118 votes elected

Eileen Bryant 66 votes elected

Peter Fittock 59 votes elected

Ian Fling 91 votes elected

Emma Griffiths 114 votes elected

Sarah Humphreys 81 votes elected

Madeline Lynch 54 votes not elected

Natasha Mackay 129 votes elected

Catherine Simpson 55 votes elected
