An update shared by Traffic Scotland at 11.01am today (Thursday October 19) confirmed that the bridge had been restricted to high-sided vehicles due to high winds affecting driving conditions.

The measure has been taken as Storm Babet brings a period of very strong easterly winds and very wet weather to the northern half of Scotland, which is expected to last from Thursday to Saturday.

A spokesperson for Traffic Scotland said: "The A9 (Dornoch Bridge) is closed to high sided vehicles due to high winds affecting driving conditions."
