Rescue teams are continuing to search for a missing diver in the Pentland Firth.

HM Coastguard has been coordinating the operation since the alarm was raised at about 6pm on Tuesday south-east of Swona.

Coastguard helicopters from Sumburgh and Inverness have been sent to assist, along with RNLI lifeboats from Longhope, Wick, Thurso and Stromness, and coastguard rescue teams from Kirkwall and St Margaret's Hope.

Four other private vessels have also supported the search since it began. It is understood that these include the ferries Hamnavoe and Pentland Venture.
