THE Health and Safety Executive is investigating after a man was seriously injured in a work accident in Wester Ross.

It happened on Sunday, September 25 at one of Keltbray’s Energy Division project sites at Ullapool.

The man, not yet being named, is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and is responding well to treatment. The firm said the thoughts of its entire workforce are with the family “at this very difficult time”. It is cooperating with the emergency services and HSE.

A spokesman for SSEN Distribution said: “We are aware of an incident on September 25 when work was being carried out by our principal contractor, Keltbray, on a section of the electricity network in the Gairloch area. We can confirm that Keltbray are cooperating fully with the emergency services and Health & Safety Executive.

“While these investigations are ongoing, they feel it would be inappropriate to comment further.”

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said: “HSE is aware of this incident and is investigating.”
