The pupils prepared for the gathering by making poppies to take to the war memorial, where they met with British Legion representatives Kenny Macaulay, Patrick Marriott and Iain MacGruer.

While they were there, they learned that there are 72 names on the war memorial and Mr Macaulay talked to the pupils about the importance of the poppy and Remembrance Day.

Rosalie Jack (P7) and the youngest pupil, Ivy McPhee (P1), laid a wreath, which was made by Mr Walker's P4 class, at the memorial on behalf of the primary school.
