Popular Dornoch distillery opens bottle shop

A POPULAR distillery has launched a bottle shop in order to provide its local community a range of fine elixirs.

Dornoch Distillery by Thompson Bros, opened up the shop based on Station Square, last month, providing a vast array of craft beers, wines and its very own whisky.

Phil Thompson, owner at Dornoch Distillery, said: “It’s been going great, and we’ve not been trying to push it too hard either.

“We’re just wanting to add another offering for the town, and not step on anyone’s toes either.

“Our best seller so far has been our own blended malt and whisky.”

Dornoch Distillery is also currently seeking planning permission for a new distillery in the area, with the hopes to create more job opportunities in the area.

Mr Thompson said: “If we get planning to expand the distillery we hope it will create between eight to 10 jobs.”

The current opening hours at the bottle shop are Monday–Friday 11am–4pm.
