Death at Nairn West Beach not being treated as suspicious Police Scotland confirms as report on incident set to be sent to procurator fiscal

Police Scotland have confirmed they will be making no further statement on the recovery of a body rom Nairn's West Beach on Thursday morning.

The body of an elderly man was found on the beach by a walker about 7.30am and emergency services were alerted.

The beach was cordoned off for several hours.

It was closed between Marine Cottages and the swimming pool for several hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30am on Thursday, 21 July, 2022 police received a report that a body of a man had been found on the beach at Marine Road, Nairn.

“Officers attended and the death is not being treated as suspicious. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
