Police Scotland issues warning about bogus workmen following reported incidents of elderly and vulnerable people being targeted in the Highlands
Police officers have issued a warning following reported incidents of bogus workmen calling at the homes of elderly and vulnerable people in the Highlands.
The workmen have offered cash-in-hand services such as gardening and landscaping.
Money has been paid upfront before the work is provided and the workmen have left without the agreed work being completed.
Police Scotland said it wanted to warn people and advise anyone who is offered cash-in-hand gardening or labouring to confirm the details of anyone offering such services and avoid payment before the work has been completed.
Anyone approached by people offering services they are concerned or unsure about should contact the police on 101.
