Police confirm death of man (85) following Invershin crash involving motorcyle and pedestrian

Police have confirmed that an 85-year-old man has died and another man (49) was transported to hospital after a crash on the A836 near Invershin yesterday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, we were called to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on the A836 near Invershin.

“Emergency services attended and the road was closed for enquiries to be carried out.

“The pedestrian, an 85-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The rider of the motorcycle, a 49-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101 quoting reference 1241 of 19 July, 2023.”
