Police arrest man seen with knife in Highland capital

Police have arrested a man in Inverness city centre after he was seen in possession of a knife.

The 47-year-old man was in Ardross Street, near to Inverness Cathedral, when police were alerted to the incident this morning.

Three police vehicles and a number of officers cordoned off the area at around 10am.

A police spokesman said: “We received a report of a man in possession of a knife in the Ardross Street area of Inverness around 10am.

“Officers attended and a 47-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident. Nobody was injured.”
