Police appeal for information after man and woman killed in A9 crash by Ralia

Two people were killed in a road accident yesterday afternoon on the A9 by Ralia, police have confirmed.

Emergency services attended and two passengers, a 75-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene following the collision between a car and lorry which occurred at around 4.50pm.

Their family has been informed.

The driver of the car, a 46-year-old woman, is in hospital in a critical condition.

The lorry driver, a 59-year-old man, was uninjured.

Road policing officers are appealing for information following the fatal road crash which happened on the A9 at its junction with the B9150.

Sergeant Alasdair Mackay said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the crash or who has any dashcam footage to get in touch with officers.

“Anyone with any information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2516 of 10 August, 2022.”

It is the second serious road accident to occur at the junction in recent weeks.
