Moves are under way to set up a Repair Cafe in Sutherland.

A Repair Cafe is where people meet together with the aim of repairing objects used in everyday life and prevent items going to landfill.

A meeting to discuss the initiative was held last Saturday at Ardgay Hall committee room.

Anna Patfield of Planet Sutherland, is spearheading the scheme along with others.

She said: "We had a good turnout with lots of great discussion."

Those present decided to hold a first pilot Repair Cafe in Ardgay Hall on either Sunday November 19 or 26.

"From here, we'll learn a few things and be able to implement these (the Repair Cafes), starting in January," said Ms Patfield.

It is thought the cafe could be held at different locations in rotation.

Ms Patfield is now asking anyone interested in taking part to fill in a questionnaire.

The questionnaire can be found online at: https:forms.gle/imnbr7pv9MnPMRWH7
