PICTURES: Sutherland schools welcome primary ones for new term

Dornoch Primary welcome nineteen new faces this term to make up their newest primary one class.

Melvich have this term welcomed Elizabeth, Leah, Isabelle, Grace and Keeva to their new primary one class.

Seated on the steps of their outdoor classroom alongside teacher Mrs McInnes are the six members of Rogart's newest class.

This year the school welcomes Orla Bregazzi, Merrie Bregazzi, Arthur Mitchell, Taya Meldrum Butcher, Ethan Lee and Mia Kidd to primary one.

Mrs McInnes said: "We all love to use the outdoor classroom as we can sit quietly and listen to the burn running past or the birds singing in the hawthorn hedge."

Farr Primary School in Bettyhill welcomed three new entrants to their school for the new term.

Pictured are new Primary 1 pupils, James Mackay, Jamie Mole and Murron Cook, already making themselves feel right at home on the rope bridge in the playground.

Scourie's primary one new starts Luana Davis and Charlotte Curley enjoyed their first weekly woodland learning day of the year.

Under the guidance of teacher Sara MacGruer, the new Golspie Primary one class of nineteen look resplendent in their school uniforms, ready for the new school year.

Gledfield Primary School by Ardgay are delighted to welcome young Lilly to their school as its newest Primary 1 entrant.

Archie Macnicol and Caitlin Ogilvie are the only two new faces at the Helmsdale Primary this year, joining Mrs Henderson as primary ones for the new term.

Rosehall primary school has made a twin-tastic start to the new academic year.

They welcomed twins Lottie and Ross Mackenzie to primary one - the siblings are the only newbies at the rural school.
