A MONSTER Ball at Rosehall last Saturday to celebrate Halloween was a monster hit.

The hall was transformed into a ghostly spectacle by management committee member Sharon Charlton and her family who dotted scary skeletons and creepy pumpkins around.

Ten-piece dance band Dancing with Sharks provided a great selection of dance tunes and a few prize-winning competitions which ensured the dance floor was hopping the entire evening.

All those attending made a spooktacular effort with ghosts, witches, corpses and creatures that go bump in the night making an appearance.

Band leader John Sharkey had a difficult task when he was asked to pick a winning costume.

He eventually plumped for Andrew and Jacqui Bannerman from Newmore in their Shrek and Princess Fiona costumes.

A hall management committee spokesman said: "The evening was a great success and raised £350 towards funding the village hall and its busy calendar of event over the coming months."
