For those aged over 60 and living in the Lairg district, there was only one place to be last Saturday evening.

And that was at the annual "over 60s" Christmas party organised by Lairg Gala Week in the town's community centre.

It was a traditional Christmas knees-up with plenty of games and activities – including a dressing-up game – aimed at encouraging people to take to the floor and let their hair down.

And the over 60s certainly got into the spirit of the party, sporting Christmas jumpers and donning festive hats.

There was music and light refreshments were served. A highlight was a visit from Bubbles the Clown and Santa and his elves.

The Gala Week's 200 club draw took place on the night and winners were as follows: £500 - Michael Macpherson; £200 - Ron Bently; £100 - John Mackenzie; 50 - Elsie Young.

There were 24 bottle winners.
