An estimated 7000 attended last night's preview evening, which kicked off at 4.30pm with the show jumping final, before a parade of vintage tractors took centre stage.

The main event is always on the first Thursday of August, one of the first dates in the diary for many year in and year out.

Outside of the main ring, the show offered a full range of trade stands from 4pm to 9pm, flower shop from 5pm to 9pm and sheep shearing competitions from 4.30pm. As always, for the thrill-seekers, the fun fair will be operating until 11pm.

A team from armed forces charity, the SSAFA, took home a prize of £1000 for their charity in the Tractor Push. Runners-up were Cops and Robbers, with Glen Urquhart Shinty Club in third place.

Show president Jock McKenzie said the number of exhibitors in the sheep category are up this year, with over 1400 entries, while cattle numbers remain steady.

Wednesday was rounded off by dog agility demonstrations from Ross-shire agility club, followed by a stunt bike performance from Stannage Stunt performers.
