PICTURES: Inclusive bonfire night held at Dornoch as public enjoy 'quiet' fireworks display
Around 2500 people were in attendance for Dornoch's bonfire celebrations on Saturday night, to enjoy as a dazzling and "inclusive" evening of fireworks.
The night began with the traditional torchlit procession from Dornoch square at 7pm, as members of the public made their way to the Meadows field to watch the lighting of the bonfire and this year's "quiet" display.
Herchers provided extra entertainment, with funds being raised for Dornoch and District Community Association towards next year's bonfire.
Organiser Victoria Mackenzie from Dornoch and District Community Association, said: "It was a very busy and successful night! We got lucky with the weather and the fog lifted before the torchlit procession left the square.
"We hosted quiet fireworks again this year which ensure the event is as inclusive as possible, reducing the fear and anxiety regular fireworks can cause to pets, wildlife and people with sound sensitivities. Most people appreciate what we’re trying to achieve in this respect.
"Our thanks as well to the amazing organisers, first aiders and volunteers who keep this amazing event going each year."
Organisers are still totalling up the amount raised on the evening, but early indications suggest around £1700 had been collected to help fund next years event.
