A HISTORIC property in Assynt has gone on the market.

Inchnadamph Lodge, located at the eastern end of Loch Assynt, is being marketed by estate agents Amazing Results.

The grade B listed building, which has three storeys, dates back 200 years and was originally built as a manse. It was acquired by Lord and Lady Rootes as their Scottish shooting lodge during the 1960s before being bought by the Vestey family.

The current owner purchased it in 1995 and has run it as an independent hostel and B&B. It has been an extremely popular base for individuals as well as groups, particularly international university geology students and mountaineering clubs.

Included in the sale are a three-bedroom bungalow, located in the former walled garden of the old manse and built in 1972; and a stone-built steading with three self-contained apartments.

The extent of the properties and grounds extends to approximately six acres.

The estate agents say Inchnadamph Lodge, which is near Ardvreck Castle, offers an "incredible opportunity" to own a well established hostel on tourism route North Coast 500.

Offers of over £849,000 are invited. For more information, visit www.amazingresults.com
