A BURNS supper hosted by Embo Trust at the Old School Embo on Saturday was a sell-out success.

Attendees enjoyed a delicious three-course traditional meal, a light-hearted variety of speeches and an evening of ceilidh dancing with the Rogart Ceilidh Band.

Embo native Willie Mackay, a Highland councillor, who now lives at Oldhall, Caithness, was the chairman for the evening.

He also addressed the haggis and recited the 101 lines of Burns' famous satire Holy Willie's Prayer.

Sutherland MP Jamie Stone gave the toast to the lassies while Lindsay Ferries of Tain delivered a reply from the lassies.

Highland Council leader Raymond Bremner, Thrumster, gave a resounding Immortal Memory.
