Bowling club opens first session with trophy awards

Assynt Bowling Club went without a jack being thrown for almost 18 months during the height of restrictions, and as a consequence no competitions took place during season 2020-21.

But on Monday, January 17, the club enjoyed their first indoor bowling session of the new year.

The occasion served as the perfect opportunity for the club to present competition winners with their trophies from the 2019-20 season, which was cut short due to the outbreak of Covid-19.

Assynt Bowling Club chairman Kenneth Macleod handed over the trophies to the winners who were present, as below;

• Singles - Robert Taylor
• Doubles - Robert Taylor and Kenny-John Matheson
• Triples - Robert Taylor, Kenneth Macleod and Avril Haines
• Ladies Champion - Frances Mackenzie
• Gary Marris Trophy - Robert Taylor

The group regularly meet in the Assynt Leisure Centre, Lochinver every Monday at 2.15pm and then again at 7pm.
