Dunrobin Castle has announced that it is hoping to open to visitors from Saturday, May 1.

A post on the castle’s Facebook page states that the date is dependent on the path out of lockdown going well and restrictions being relaxed as planned next month.

The post reads: “Andy Bunting (falconer) is already busy getting his birds ready and he will be doing two displays every day.

“The garden's team are very busy with preparations and the castle team will be back next month for a very quick spring clean.

“There are a few details still to be finalised but hopefully this information will help with our visitors plan.

“We look forward to extending our warm Highland welcome to visitors when travelling is again permitted.”

The castle has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors a year in recent times.
