A mature tree crashed down on to the B9152 this morning and blocked half the road.

The northbound lane was obliterated by the tree just past the Highland Wildlife Park and traffic heading towards Aviemore had to take it very carefully around it.

It's not known whether the tree was blown over or had rotted and checks were being made this morning.

Highland Council confirmed it had been cleared by 10am.
