North West Sutherland Schools Group to stage its first ever musical : Which one have they picked?

The North West Sutherland Schools Group has announced that it is to produce its first ever school musical.

The schools group has opted to stage the popular family musical Annie, which tells the story of an orphan who overcomes setbacks to find a new family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks.

North West Sutherland Schools Group comprises Kinlochbervie High School and its feeder primary schools at Kinlochbervie, Durness and Scourie.

A post on the group's Facebook page states: "Auditions will be held after the October break and will be open to all primary five to S6 students across our campus."

The show will be staged in June next year and is to go on tour, visiting Kinlochbervie, Scourie and Durness.

New acting head teacher at Kinlochbervie High School is John Naples-Campbell.

Mr Naples-Campbell has worked in various local authorities teaching drama and performing acts and he was also a lecturer in performing arts at Edinburgh College where he secured Academy award winner Emma Thompson as their patron.
