North west Sutherland community group receives handsome Helping it Happen award

Scourie Community Development Company (SCDC) now has a handsome award to display.

The organisation recently won the Working with Communities category of the Helping it Happen Awards 2021 – run by Scottish Land & Estates.

Mark Tennant, chairman of Scottish Land & Estates (SLE), presented the handcrafted award to SCDC development manager Helen Houston and director Innes Macdonald at the SLE Highland reception in Aviemore last month.

Judges said SCDC was a “great example of a small, isolated community pulling together to ensure the needs of the community were met".
