Geopark director Murdo MacPherson updated Kinlochbervie community councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night on how the 2022 season had gone for the Rock Stop, which closed this week for the winter.

The visitor centre, located at Unapool, also includes a coffee shop and exhibition.

Mr Macpherson, said: “It seems to have done very well. Generally speaking it opened five days (a week). Had we had more staff, we could have opened longer and done more, but staffing was an issue.

“In the immediate future I do not see there is going to be a sudden increase in the number of people who can work there, but it was a successful season.”

Mr MacPherson was confirmed at the meeting as the Kinlochbervie Community Council representative with the geopark’s board of directors.
