New youth group to open in Brora in New Year

Brora Development Trust has announced that the new youth group it is setting up, will start in the new year.

Brora Youth Group will hold its first meeting at Brora Community Centre on Wednesday, January 10, from 7pm to 8.30pm.

From then on the youth group, which is aimed at secondary school age children, will meet every Wednesday at the same time and also on Fridays, from 6pm-7.30pm.

The programme of activities will include "games and music" and there will also be free food and drinks.

A spokesperson for the youth group said: "All secondary school age young people are welcome. Come and join us once the festivities are over in the New Year."

The trust secured funding from the Westminster Foundation and the Gordonbush Community Fund for its youth initiative.

A lead youth worker, Megan Penny, was appointed in November and the trust also launched a recruitment drive for youth workers.
