New Timespan initiative aims to take local heritage into village homes
A new initiative from Helmsdale based Timespan is preparing to take local heritage and collections into village homes.
The new People's Mobile Archive (PMA), categorised as a social movement, aims to take local heritage and a collection of over 11,000 items, including local research and photographs, sound and film, heritage activity packs and lending library, directly into village homes.
The contents will also be available to visitors and groups in Timespan’s public archive.
The PMA aims to preserve and share local history, adopting a critical and multidisciplinary approach, offering an alternative perspective to local issues.
To spread the word about the new initiative, Timespan have invited members of the public to join them for a series of launch events this weekend.
