But after the trust struggled to find an operator to run the centre's restaurant and gift shop, it was sold to Pure Leisure Group, a holiday park company owned by John Morphet who also owns Gledfield Estate where he has planning permission for 47 static caravans.

Mr Morphet has appointed Tom Bannerman and his partner Annie Rose Munro of the Salt and Salmon Company to run the centre.

The opening day will include a market selling local produce and crafts and live music. There will be an Easter egg hunt for children with free entry and prizes, face painting and more.

The cafe will be open for sit-in lunches, coffee and cakes and the 'Salt House' will be open for takeaway snacks, hot drinks and treats.
