LONDON alt.folk band Bear’s Den are visiting the Highlands as part of their most ambitious tour to date.

The tour kicks off on 1st May in Orkney, followed by dates in Inverness, Aviemore, Stornoway and Aberdeen as the band begins a journey that will take them the entire length of the UK, all the way to Brighton, before heading across the channel for return visits to Germany and their debut headline performance in Paris.

"To finally be able to do this is a huge deal to us," lead singer and songwriter Andrew Davie said of the band’s Highlands and Islands tour.

"Our previous tours have allowed us to tour more and to visit places not everybody gets to go to.

"To explore new parts of the world that most people don’t normally tour excites and inspires us as a band. For us its important to never take touring for granted as we are very fortunate to be able to do it."

2013 was a big year for Bear’s Den. Highlights include a sold out debut UK tour in February, a summer playing a whole host of festivals including Mumford & Sons’ Summer Stampede at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in front of a 60,000 strong crowd, and joining the Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover Tour in the US followed by a support slot with Daughter on their US tour.

They then travelled to Australia to support Matt Corby in October before returning to the UK and Europe for their own headline tour.

2013 also saw the release of two EPs on Communion Records.
