FRESH from their Glastonbury triumph earlier this summer, and with a new album two years in the making and a new single released this week, alternative Brit rock band the Editors are set to wow a North-east audience at Aberdeen's Music Hall on Monday, November 25.
Alternative and indie rock band the 1975 are also heading for Aberdeen as part of their UK tour to promote their new self-titled debut album.
The Birmingham-based Editors currently comprise Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar) and Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars and backing vocals).
They last played Aberdeen's Music Hall in March, 2010.
The band released their fourth studio album, The Weight of Your Love, last month, and the video of their new single, Formaldehyde, marking the music video debut of acclaimed film director Ben Wheatley, has just been released.
The Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and four in total, selling several million copies worldwide.
Their debut album, The Back Room, released in 2005 and containing the hits, Munich and Blood, was nominated for a Mercury Prize.
The follow-up album, An End Has a Start, went to No 1 in the UK album chart in 2007, earning them a Best British Band Brit Award nomination, and their third, In This Light and on This Evening, went straight to No 1 in the UK album chart in 2009.
With four EPs to their name, The 1975 play the Music Hall on Thursday, February 6, 2014.
