Man arrested after ‘suspicious death’ of 25-year-old in Aberdeen
A man has been arrested after a 25-year-old man was found with fatal injuries on a street in Aberdeen.
Austin Ironside died in hospital two days after he was found injured on Skene Street at around 3.10pm on Sunday August 3.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later died on Tuesday August 5. After a post-mortem examination, his death was deemed to be suspicious.
Detectives from Police Scotland’s major investigation team are leading the investigation into the death and appealed for information.
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of Mr Ironside.
He was always smiling and his infectious laugh brought light into the lives of everyone who knew him.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The investigation remains ongoing and officers continue to follow positive lines of inquiry.”
Mr Ironside’s family paid tribute to him in a statement issued via Police Scotland.
They said: “Austin was popular, with friends across the city, and would do anything to help others.
“He was always smiling and his infectious laugh brought light into the lives of everyone who knew him.
“We are all devastated by what has happened and would like privacy at this terrible time.”
