Why You Should See It: The tale ofMark Wahlburg's funky bunch of soldiers screwing up a mission is ripe with potential – and it's been lauded by several critics as a true and grim depiction of the war in Afghanistan. Never preachy about it, it simply lays bare the horrors of war thanks to some impressive cinematography and masterful direction.
What truly makes it one to see however is that it's based on a true story – the visceral brutality shown in the movie is largely factual and allows it to hit home all the harder. It's been scooping awards left, right and centre for action movies – yet it's as a warning this film truly succeeds.
