North musicians rally to the aid of Dingwall venue

NORTH musicians are rallying round Dingwall’s Greenhouse Project to save it from closure.

In addition to being a shop which raises money for social, community and environmental projects in Dingwall and the surrounding areas, The Greenhouse at 14 High Street has become an important music venue for the town, hosting The Coffee Shop Open Mic Sessions, The Tea Posy Saturday sets and home to many other projects and creative ideas.

However, having inherited a substantial VAT debt from previous management and with all its suggested repayment plans rejected by HM Revenue and Customs, The Greenhouse now faces possible liquidation.

To prevent this from happening, local promoter Rob Ellen is asking the Highland musical community, both musicians and fans, to help support at fundraiser and awareness gig in aid of The Greenhouse Community Interest Company on Friday 14th February.

"We need your help even just talking about this situation and sharing this news, but also hands on by coming along, donating £5 — or what you can afford — and just enjoying what we have at The Greenhouse Music," Ellen said.

"The powers to be need to know how much this community needs the Greenhouse. Please help!"
