The club was set up as a pilot scheme in 2018 – funded by Gordonbush wind farm money –and enabled six children with additional support needs to take part in gymnastics after school.

It was such an outstanding success that it was decided to expand the club to 12 children, undertaking four activities – horse riding, swimming, ball skills and gymnastics. The group also changed its constitution to include children who may be struggling with emotional issues or stress and anxiety. It has received further funding from Beatrice Offshore Fund and the Co-op.
