THE father of an Easter Ross man posted missing almost 14 months ago has pledged he won't stop searching for his much-missed son.

Finn Creaney (33) was last seen around 2.15pm on Friday, March 25 last year at Altnaharra in Sutherland near Loch Naver.

The married father-of-two was the subject of a major TV spotlight on a new series on missing people fronted by Dan Walker around the anniversary of the day he was last seen.

Vanished: The Hunt for Britain's Missing People highlighted the case of the experienced bushcraft practitioner. His plight has also inspired a detailed YouTube documentary put together by someone who sees himself as a kindred spirit.

Finn's dad, Mark, has maintained an ongoing search around the area where he was last seen and posted updates to the many who have backed the effort, either through supportive messages, suggestions or contributions to a fund supporting the search.

Mark Creaney said: "It's now almost 14 months since Finn went missing and we're still up here, we're still searching, we're still being positive trying to find an answer as to why we haven't come across him yet and where he can possibly be.

"It's this mind-blowing mystery of where Finn is [that] needs an answer. We're up here looking for it. We're covering as much as we can. The weather's getting a lot better. It's still wet underfoot and still rain comes in but we've got a lot more light and a lot more time to search. We're using that time as best we can and pushing through as much as we can while obviously intently searching the area and just keeping positive."

He went on: "I just want you to know we're still up here and doing the do and we always will until we get Finn back and would like to thank everybody who has helped us and supported us and everybody who's sent us messages and people who are looking or have given us ideas or are maybe planning a holiday up here and want to know if they can help.

"We really appreciate all of that and everybody who has dropped money into the GoFundMe. Of course I know it has been such a long time since Finn went missing and to see folks still do that every now and again is really heart-warming an we really appreciate it and it makes all the difference."

He said everybody who shows support "it just keeps us afloat a wee bit longer and keeps us focused on our goal which is bringing that boy home so thank you all and much love and hopefully we'll get a good result soon."
