A NORTH coast football club is looking for new players as it begins to re-establish itself with the easing of the pandemic.

Melvich Football Club has been almost two years in hibernation as a result of Covid-19.

Summer football in Sutherland and elsewhere was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the virus and the increasing number of people affected.

But in an announcement made in social media last Saturday, the club said it was ready to get back onto the football field again.

The post stated: “Two years with no football. It’s finally time to announce we’re back and ready to do it all over again!”

The club, which plays in the North West Sutherland League, hopes to kickstart training sessions in the next few weeks and says that anyone interested can take part at any level.

Anyone keen on joining can Facebook message the club here.
