The man was rescued off the coast near Ullapool.

A man was rescued from the freezing waters of a west coast loch on Sunday after he fell overboard.

The man was seen by a member of the public to enter the water from his rigid inflatable craft off Ullapool in Wester Ross.

The alarm was raised around 2.10pm and after spending 15 minutes in the water another vessel reached the man and took him ashore at Leckmelm. Coastguards secured his boat.

After being checked over by paramedics the man who was very cold from his experience was warmed up but needed no further treatment.
