Police have caught a man they believe is responsible for a spate of vandalism in Golspie.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said a 33-year-old local man is to be reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with the offences.

Over a period of nearly two years, more than 20 incidents of vandalism have been committed at commercial premises in and around the area of Golspie Industrial Estate.

The vandalism has been labelled by police as a "blight on the community."

The latest incidents occurred a fortnight ago when windows in the Bank of Scotland and the former Highland Council offices on the Main Street, were damaged.
