Moray Summer Festival holding out for a hero as Bonnie Tyler to visit Elgin
MACMORAY Summer Festival is holding out for a hero – with world-renowned singer Bonnie Tyler set to take to the stage for a summer event to remember.
After 34 years without visiting Scotland, the Welsh singer is returning to the country to perform her string of number one hits for the MacMoray crowd.
Bonnie Tyler (72) joins previously announced acts Status Quo and The Jacksons at the festival which takes place place on Saturday and Sunday, August 10 and 11, 2024. Tyler will perform on the Sunday.
Tyler is known for her popular hits including Total Eclipse of the Heart, Holding out for a Hero and It’s a Heartache.
After spending several years of her youth performing in local pubs in Wales, she shot to fame when she was spotted by a talent scout in 1974.
It's a Heartache was Tyler's first big hit – reaching number four in the charts in 1977.
This was followed by Total Eclipse of the Heart in 1983 and Holding out for a Hero a year later – which stormed to number one and two respectively.
Tyler continues to work on new music, with her currently touring as part of her 40 Years Total Eclipse of the Heart Tour.
